At the very start of the pandemic, I was still finishing up my BFA and it was an immense struggle to finish up my capstone, graduate, and apply to jobs all at the same time. Not only are those three things incredible stressful and time consuming by themselves, but the fact that the entire world was in a global pandemic and it felt like nobody knew what tomorrow was going to bring and things were changing last minute constantly. My anxiety and stress levels were basically at all time highs.
So at some point in 2020, my friends and I picked up streaming on Twitch as a shared hobby and also as a way to play games together. For me specifically, it was an incredible way to just relax and not think about the world being on fire for a couple hours. Once we started getting really into it and becoming Twitch Affiliates, I decided to make a trailer for my channel using clips that our little community had taken from my streams at the time. To this day (Dec 2021), I still love it. It's like a beautifully silly time capsule of the summer of 2020 where even though I was stressed out and panicking everyday about finding a job and not dying via pandemic; being with my friends digitally while in lockdown really helped a lot. |
Video editing is something I've done for many years. Probably almost as long as I've done illustration work. If you've looked through my other projects listed on here, you'll see that I love to incorporate video in them somewhere! A lot of the stuff I've edited together tend to go from purely comedic edits to standard youtube/patreon/vlog-type video edits and occasionally serious/dramatic edits.
